Are you still holding your breath? Esther certainly is. She just risked her life to invite the king to a banquet. What a beautiful foreshadowing of how our Savior gave His life to provide us with an invitation to an eternal feast.
Black Trash Bags: Week 9 in Nehemiah
When I was young, my Grandma would come over every couple of months and help me clean my room, go through my clothes, and so forth. One time, we had it all nice and tidy. Which was good because I was ready to go outside and play. She then said, "Well, we just need to check under the bed, and then we'll be done." I quickly explained that the black trash bag under my bed was a science project and she should just leave it alone.
Ecclesiastes 9: An Equal End
I was reminded the last few days of how "I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate" (Romans 7:15). My flesh is so weak. In case you weren't aware, just because I write Bible studies doesn't mean I don't struggle. I am not exempt from temptations or warring between my sinful flesh and the Spirit. Some days are harder than others, and I wrestle with temptation like every other believer (1 Corinthians 10:13).
